I said it is a workaround. Until Panasonic has an app that works without this workaround it's a way to geotag for several hours without the need to mess with the phone for every picture. I wrote it up because I thought it might be useful for some. I did a further test with a freshly charged battery and got well over three hours.

I've set my camera up this way now and tested it at home and confirm it works well. I think it's a better option and will see how it goes when I next go out with the camera. I noted in the manual that you can press any button to turn the EVF/LCD back on, not just the shutter button. and tapping on the phone (e.g. remote shutter) also turns the monitor back on.
