News Lumix S9 - new camera rumor roundup

I wonder if it's going to be a square sensor, after watching that? Or at the very least, multi aspect ratio
Same sensor as the s5ii(x) i understand... But these also have open gate...

Sounds like a good excuse to your wife that you have to buy another camera :)

Interesting idea... Teufel Grinsend Schwanz

I wonder if we are the target audience... I'm a bit older already ;-)

Now I have it: I do not buy that camera for me. I buy it for my 12 year old son! Z04 Auslachen

I will then store it safely for him until he is old enough to start his own youtube channel Z04 Flucht

Don't worry about your wife.... Your son will probably have read it already Z04 Auslachen

How many 28mm lenses do you have spread across your systems?

Dangerous to answer this question in the public if my wife reads this.... Teufel Grinsend Schwanz

I try to have in every system a 28mm. At the moment I have the GR3, the PanaLeica 15/1.7 for MFT and the XF18/1.4 for my Fuji system. The rest I sold already (Nikon Z etc.). Ähhhmmm... and the Leica Q3, but I never used the Q3 so far. I think it does not count if I never used it...

If my wife reads this, I am dead... Z04 Hinterherjagen

No interest in this new one from Panasonic at all, zero, zilch, wouldn't have even commented but just responding to the e-mail asking for my thoughts. Of course wishing Panasonic well and hope it broadens the market for L mount because that will be a benefit for all L mount users.

The S9 will get IBIS, but it seems like we are not getting a 28mm pancake. The lens gonna be a zoom. A 18-40mm Zoom. Hopefully it will be really small or fast an reasonable small. Otherwise it wouldn't make sense, because we already have the 20-60.

Andrea Pizzini just said 3 interesting things about the Lumix announcement:
1. The camera will have Ibis, despite the similiar size of a Sigma FP.
2. The Lens is very compact, with a focal length of 18-40mm.
3. Lumix will announce a new compact/pancake Lens (I am not sure about this one).

I like the three things Daumenhoch

Do we know for sure this camera is an ILC? Maybe this new lens is a fixed zoom, like the LX series?

Perhaps cropped square to APSC, the 18-40mm might be APSC image circle too. As the Fuji X100 is getting mentioned a lot. And Panasonic did similar with the last LX cameras

I'm curious why they aren't creating more of a RF body (at least with an EVF) and a reasonably fast compact prime, unless the comments about not competing with the Leica units are hitting the mark. Personally, I am hoping for a release of a Lumix SxR II (the version of the SL3). It fits nicely between my M43 Olympus gear and GFX 100 II, especially with these delightful S f/1.8 primes. I guess I have to keep reminding myself that what comes to market was designed 3-5 years ago, based on what they knew at the time, with some tweaks along the way. But hey, it's not like we don't have plenty of gear to work with! (except that 28mm 1.8!)
