SHOW - Shots in 65:24 format (Xpan)

Finally got out into the world for some much needed travel - taken on my S5II with Lumix 24-105
First two are views from around Interlaken, Switzerland. Last one is Castle Hohenschwangau in Bavaria.

A shot from my recent 3-day fall-colors trip in Colorado. This is Crystal Lake along the Million Dollar Highway. The colors were definitely popping, and we had fresh snow on the mountain tops from the night before, but it was still stormy & overcast. I think I missed peak conditions by a day or three. May still go back again this coming weekend - not sure.P1548976_4k.jpg

Excellent picture!!

I took my new (to me) S1R out to some local woodland tonight. As is often the case the sky was causing problems by causing hotspots that were dominating the image so using the Xpan crop seemed an ideal way to mitigate this. Not the most exciting image in the world but it was nice to have a play with my new toy and I have to say so far I'm very much enjoying it :)

I like the composition. How the position of the trees makes a balance in the picture.

Here a very interesting video of the photographer Nick Carver about the 6 x 17 aspect ratio with medium format analog cameras. I think the panoramic ratio in this case is 24x68, and not 24x65, like the X-Pan ratio, but is very similar.
