Rumors New cameras on October 8th?

Maybe we have to track in the future somehow constantly where Richard is. An Apple itracker hidden in all his suitcases and camera bags. Can someone do this please?
 
I was surprised to read about the S5D but a cheaper alternative that isn't missing all the stuff the S9 is would be a very good option, especially for photographers that don't need the better AF of the mark II models.
 
If the S5D includes the firmware upgrades that are relevant from the S5ii/S9, it’ll be a very good upgrade for existing S5 users at a lower price than the S5ii. It’ll also be a low cost model to drag more people into the system.
 
A lot of hype for one new lens and a couple new colors of s9. Wondering if this was always the plan or if something got pulled last second.

Either way, im looking forward to Lumix lab and especially the new color profile for my s5ii
 
No hybrid zoom for S5II/X? Really?

At least we get the Leica monochrome profile...

Regarding the 18-40mm, the collapsible zoom... I don't know... at least the price is reasonable: 579€ (in Germany)

Firmware updates for G9ii, S9, S5ii/S5iiX. Other companies do this with new camera models instead of FW updates ;)
1 new lens (18-40)
1 new camera (S5D)

The hype was made by the rumor site, not by Panasonic ;)
 
It was not in the stream, I do not know why. I got the official press text a few minutes ago. Try to get it in English now...
 
Wonder if the S5d has some of the improved software features from the S5ii - e.g. MF lens names, LUTs, integration with Lumix Labs etc?

Being an ex-Pentaxian I know the pure unadulterated hope from this stuff which I never bought into. Them guys cling onto new stuff arriving like a 2nd arrival of Jesus, but there is less need for that here.

As another former Pentax user I concur. They do feast on rumours and dooom.

I was just thinking last night of how the S5 feels like my old favorite K5 in hand - the playback button is even in the same place! Colors are similar after my tweaks, images are impressive yet on a higher level.. but video is no longer a complete pain
 
The s5d makes me wonder if they are making a deliberate move releasing this one quietly or if something happened last minute for them to yank the official announcement but for some reason not everyone else got the memo about the new embargo

Ha I've both Pentax and Lumix video on my YouTube channel. Errrrr the difference is quite noticeable :cool:

I had K30 and K70, now a FF S5ii camera the same weight and only slightly bigger than those small APSC bodies. That K1 was a bulky beast, I was never going FF in Pentax.
