Something is moving on ) https://www.l-rumors.com/confirmed-important-panasonic-announcement-on-october-8/
The major purpose of the Panasonic "D" models is to reuse almost everything of a older model with some new parts, like a new display or EVF or something like that. If they will make a S5D, than it will be almost the same as the S5. You can see it with the G100D for example.View attachment 6906
An entry level S5D with DFD only would be interesting for me, if it is smaller than the S5.

I don't know. Who buys the G100D, G95D or FZ82D?Who will buy it then? ...
From what I'm picking up.here and the tiny bit I researched about G100D it makes little sense.I don't know. Who buys the G100D, G95D or FZ82D?
entry level and cheap don't fit with what follows. It is time for the reviews of the 18-40mm... Richard Wong, please
And if we are allowed to do a wishlist, I think that an entry level, cheap, photo centric version of the S9, with Evf, mechanical shutter and of course PDAF would be very successful![]()
OK, I'm going to strike the m43 camera from my prediction since this looks like an L-mount only launch. Maybe the 18-40 will be announced for sale.My prediction:
- S1ii. Hybrid camera with about 30-40 Mp.
- Another m43 camera with PDAF - probably a replacement for the GX9x cameras.
Could be 100% wrong of course!
It definitely makes sense, I presume they still sell quite well but some parts are EOL (end-of-line), so they have too replace these whith parts which they expect to have still a live-time of several years, and are often also cheaper to get. From what I'm picking up.here and the tiny bit I researched about G100D it makes little sense.
The new rumor talks about the S1Hii and the S1Rii, to be announced both next twesday...OK, I'm going to strike the m43 camera from my prediction since this looks like an L-mount only launch. Maybe the 18-40 will be announced for sale.
Now there's a question!! If the size/weight is a step down from the mark 1 then I'd be very tempted. I love the S1R really, but it's a lump !Paul, if they announce the S1R ii with the 60mpx and triple resolution sensor of the Leica SL3, would you seriously consider getting one?![]()
I've always felt that the S1 is a bit of an odd duck, now that the S5 variants are around. Don't get me wrong, I do like my S1, but it seems to me that most people who want a sensor with "average" resolution are more likely to choose a smaller body.My prediction:

Well, you may be right. But the sensor in the SL3 doesn’t have a fast enough read out to deliver the video capabilities that a decent hybrid camera needs. So either it’s two bodies with one being stills-focussed, or they use a different sensor. Guess we’ll know soon!I've always felt that the S1 is a bit of an odd duck, now that the S5 variants are around. I think Panasonic badly needs an S1R II. They are the only FF manufacturer who does not have a modern high-resolution body. Sure, it will have a Panasonic (i.e., hybrid) spin on it, but I predict that they will soon announce their version of the SL3. Second choice goes to an S1H II.
Hopefully one of the other new products to be announced will be the super-tele zoom.
