What a monster, too small a zoom range, what's it for? Astro or handheld vlogging?
Guess who likes how much you will be able to blur the backgrounds with this lens?? Toneh!!

I think there's a new Panasonic camera rumoured to be coming very soon and from what I've seen it's not a FF, so that leaves m4/3 or a compact.Yes, they've shot that review episode on a new camera that is obviously still under embargo.
I'd be mighty surprised if it's a new Panasonic camera, e.g. GH7 given the company just had a summit and didn't release it there. Could be a new Canon?
Mine was fine and I didn't use any of the primes in range again, but yeah as you say it did feel a prime with flexibility or a too short for zoom! Obviously despite the size and weight I now prefer the 24-105 f4 with FF but that's apples vs oranges comparison in general.I had the 20-40mm too and liked it a lot though it had some focus problems. I had previously thought of primes vs zooms as a binary thing but I found that the short range of the 20-40mm made it feel almost like a prime which having a little bit of flexibility. I think this Sigma would be the same though of course much faster and bigger.
I was so tempted to say it but knew you were going to LoLGuess who likes how much you will be able to blur the backgrounds with this lens?? Toneh!!

That's interesting!Canon to launch new Cinema EOS camera on June 5, 2024 at 3PM EDT
Canon USA has announced that there will be a live YouTube presentation on June 5, 2024 at 3:00 EDT to introduce a new Cinema EOS camera. It’s rare that we get a ton of Cinema EOS related information…www.canonrumors.com
That's definitely possible
Yeah, sorry - my bad. I diverted the conversation with this post which was in response to the PetaPixel review video that Dirk linked.Isn't this lens E mount and L mount only as yet? That kind of limits the potential new body that may make an appearance I would have thought
To be perfectly honest, I have yet to watch any of the reviews, so not 100% sure on exact lens mounts. Can't remember if it was on a rumour post or what, where they mentioned E and L mount.Yeah, sorry - my bad. I watched the video and noticed in the intro where they usually declare what gear was used to record the show (often the G9II or S5IIx) it just said 'REDACTED". So that's what led to the side discussion about the rumored GH7. Panasonic has since posted to social media today with a cryptic "New Phase" message with a countdown that starts at 7, so it does look like there is a new m4/3 camera about to drop (along with the usual sh!t storm of disappointment, no doubt).
But yes, it has nothing to do with the new Sigma 18-45mm lens.
Yes, it's just those two mounts. To be perfectly honest, I have yet to watch any of the reviews, so not 100% sure on exact lens mounts. Can't remember if it was on a rumour post or what, where they mentioned E and L mount.
Yep, it's coming for sure. Too big, too heavy, doesn't do a gazillion FPS, can't acquire a bird 1.2km away in 0.000002 nanoseconds etc. And when someone suggests it wasn't designed for that, the response will be FFS what were Panasonic thinking!1!! LOL.And yeah, I can hardly wait for the overwhelming chorus of wailing and weeping, by 80 year old bird photographers, that it (the GH7) doesn't exactly fit their list of demands LoL LoL LoL.
He he he. Yeah, it will just be a matter of time, before someone "accidentally" discovers a combination of settings, that blocks another feature, and the end of the world is nigh. Of course it will have happened just when they were about to take a once in a lifetime shot. And ruined it.Yep, it's coming for sure.
