*** September 2024 Image and Video Thread ***

It's that time of the year again. Driving home from my bike ride. Funny story. I sat the camera on a post while I opened a gate to get closer. Did the same on the way out, hopped in my vehicle, got half an hour down the road, and looked down at the passenger seat. No camera. $h!t $h!t $h!t $h!t $h!t. Chucked a U-turn, drove back, there it was happily sitting on the post, basking in the afternoon sun lol lol. All's well that ends well.

Is it possible to show more bokeh character? The lens is new and almost nothing is known. Thank you.
If I understand right you want to see the bokeh balls, correct? I will show you some.

Great light! I love the canola fields this time of year.

I was hoping to be out this weekend in south-western NSW taking some photos of the fields but my dearest wife is unwell so we cancelled the plans.

Testing out the Konica Hexanon 35-70/3.5 (v1) lens again, a few decent shots:

The historic Arthur Bryant's BBQ, hole-in-the-wall and all. :)

Another historic one, the Western Auto building.

I've seen this mural from the Main Street bridge a number of times, but this is the first time I had a chance to get close at ground level. :)

Overall... the lens has the Hexanon contrast and vivid colors that I love; but it's softer than I'd like, sadly.

What sort of food do they serve at Arthur Bryant's BBQ? Is everything BBQ'd?

I really like this photo and the building. Just looked at Wiki page about its history. Nice architecture and I love the old sign.

They used to claim they'd smoke anything... I sometimes thought about bringing in tofu or squash just to see if they'd smoke vegetables. ^^;;

But no, they're thoroughly carnivores there. They've added a video since the last time I visited their website... pretty good, I'm jealous. https://arthurbryantsbbq.com/

Just watched the video. I could feel my arteries hardening! :D

The smoked turkey is actually quite lean and pretty good for you. :)

The fries... not so much. ^^;; They're fresh-cut, which is good; you can actually look behind the counter and see them using an old potato press. But they fry 'em in lard, which is not so good.

Very busy lately and no time for my hobby. But yesterday I took a walk with my daughter and only the S50/1.8 with me. Really love the pictures... I don't want to share pictures of my kids, and 99% they were :) But anyway, liked this one as well.. :) The wooden pole is a markup from the real thing just a few km away, a local landmark, Big tv communication tower. Think this was the first outing outside my house to bring just this lens, and I will do it more often! Really like it.

Excellent image, Paul!!
Thanks Xavier. I must say that it's a spectacular church, both inside and out. When I took this shot it was a beautiful autumn morning outside - cool but with warm sunshine and fluffy clouds (that later turned to rain!). When I went inside, I was greeted by some sublime organ music and a cascade of light patterns cast by the stained glass windows. Definitely a transcendental moment. I hope this picture captures its beauty.

You can read more about the building here => https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St_Peter_ad_Vincula_Church,_Hampton_Lucy

I love the punch and pop that Lumix 100mm produces. Absolutely fabulous!

This is the prime I would want amongst any of them.
