News New firmware just out for S1, S1R, S5II, S5IIx and four S-series lenses!

Brilliant news, hybrid zoom with 70-300 and added planes/trains.

Crop zoom also sounds good, like an adjustable teleconverter that you pay for in MP as with the hybrid zoom. Should be good with Sigma 500 f5.6.

Camera control with Lumix Lab also, hopefully I can delete LumixSync app.

They provided everything expected for S5ii in my view.

No other brands do firmware updates like Lumix do, these are big feature add ons.
 
First I've heard, but then I'm at work at the moment. Will this work with the 1st-gen S5, perchance?
 
I would love to know what "Improved operational stability" in the firmware update for the 24-105mm lens actually means! Z04 975
 
The first LUMIX LIVE (pre-recorded) webcast for 2025 will feature the latest firmware updates. It is due up in 14 hours.

Correction. The normal S5ii will have the same streaming upgrade like the X version

That's why the S5iiX exists ofcourse

I'm very happy with this new update. This evening I'm going to install it right away.

I was really waiting for the Hybrid zoom, and improved AF.

Now, a (can be paid) BRAW update for the S5iiX update is the last wish on my list...

In the German press announcement it is written that both will have the same streaming update
 
I have one question about the removed functions in Europe:
I‘m using WiFi to transfer the pictures directly to a PC server after the shoot automatically (like teethering). The camera is connected to a shared folder which I can scan with Bridge or Lightroom.
Is this function not available anymore because of the removed wifi function? I do not understand fully, what is removed…

It didn't have the streaming in the previous firmwares. That together with the external SSD support was the €200,- difference.

- Multiple frame markers
- Autofocus subject detection
- Hybrid zoom
- Crop zoom
- Lumix Lab App (remote control)
- MP4 lite codec
- New XS file size for photos

The first five are for me the most interesting. especially the AF, Hybrid zoom, Crop zoom and the extensive Lumix Lab App support.
