Have you tried an auxiliary light source? With the amount of time required to expose the underlying HR images, I would think that a flash would never work, and you need some other way to boost the available light.

They are including all bells and whistles, what are they putting into a S1Hii? Unless it's even higher end or not happening. I doubt it's happening in a conventional SLR style body and they may have an equivalent in a cinema style box camera competing with RED or other high-end cinema.

I think S1H was the last of it's kind.

Yes, some kind of cinema line of cameras like the Sony FX3 or even the Canon C80.

Wouldn't it be good if you could insert NVME mini M.2 drives. I hate cables and external peripherals!

Similar size to CF express with faster speeds but heat removal could be an issue.

2TB CF cards are available so what's the point of external SSDs?

Yes. The rumored S1Rii specifications are shaping up to be just the same as the GH7, except going to the full frame sensor and 8K video. And the GH7 has every Lumix feature and trick they have. I don't see any reason for a S1H beyond this. The S1H has a low pass filter to control moiré, but I wouldn't expect another model just for that.

Nothing wrong about this. Nobody will complain, if the S1Rii gives us former 2 bodies in one. Saves a lot of money for both, the consumer and for Panasonic.

Although I will not buy the S1Rii, because I do not need these video features, I do think that it is the right move from Panasonic, both body size and price point, if it is as good as it looks like.

If this S1Rii can really compete with the big guns of Canon, Nikon and Sony, this could change the market share in the long run - as long as an entry level model will be released too.

I do both CFexpress and SSD with the GH7, but I haven't invested in 2TB CFexpress yet. Although the price is coming down every week.

A few days ago I visited an electronics store, was looking at these huge 96" 8k OLED TVs and thought of the 8k video in this S1Rii and how mesmerising it would be to see video footage on it.

Hey man you're starting to sound like them old grubby Pentaxians :p

Photographers still buy Nikon, Canon and Sony cameras despite all their video features. Is there something lacking in the rumored S1Rii photography specifications?

The acid test for me will be shadow noise at base ISO. And of course, no banding or grid-lines in strongly backlit scenes from the PDAF sensels.
