*** June 2024 Image and Video Thread ***

Hi Paul, it's showing up on my PC OK however I've posted again below.
I suspect the issue may be that I had replaced the original upload to flickr with second one having raised the shadows a little.

The River Thames at Pangbourne (West Berks UK) yesterday.

Nice! I was somewhere near Pangbourne myself yesterday too:

That's impressive, yes I can see that you were quite close to Pangbourne. You certainly covered quite a distance. Great weather for it too (soaring I assume).
Yes, in a glider. It was a failed task. You can see what I was trying to do, but the weather out in Wales was poor. I did probably about 250km, but that's not very far really. My best flight has been over 600km.

250km is still a fair distance. I can see that there appears to be some deliberation around Evesham or was that your initial altitude gain?

I took off from Bidford, which is near Evesham. The "deliberation" around Evesham was just getting established - initial altitude gain, making sure the engine works in case it's needed later (my glider has a small engine as a backup to get me home if the weather can't), and deciding when to start the task.

That's a lovely shot Huw. The 20-60 is hard to beat. It gives up nothing in IQ to any other L-mount lens I have.

Thanks Paul, I think the barge being moored there helped the composition.
Yes the little 20-60 is a bit of a wonder lens. I really appreciate the wider than normal end, OK 60 is a bit short at the long end but I can work with it. The IQ never fails to impress me. I've been having a play with the 70-300 this evening also an impressive lens for what it is , I'll post a couple a bit later.

A couple with the 70-300. Quite heavy crops with manipulation of shadows and highlights.

Cove mountain and Cove cave in the middle where you can climb up through it and emerge up towards the top left. It's quite difficult (even to get into) and you can just about squeeze through the top hole. I last did it in 2016_1011235.jpg
