Whitby with the Sigma fp L and Sigma 65/2.

The harbour at low tide.

Stones (St Mary's church in the first photo).

The Abbey.
Excellent pictures, Alan, the Sigma 65 f2 is becoming my favourite prime for photo.

They're also a great way for me to check the sharpness of a lens. :)
Yes, distant winter trees are a bit of a torture test for a lens. But the 24-105 deals with them very well. The more I use the 24-105 (and it's my most-used lens), the more I appreciate it. I think it's a very under-appreciated lens. Sharpness is great, the range is a step up on the 24-70 lenses, the OIS / Sync IS is fantastic for FF, and it's got a useful semi-macro capability too.

This is the most sensible thing you've said to date on here Z02 Deal1:p

<nod> I have to admit, it's larger and heavier than I'd like, and certainly more than I can afford at the moment. ^^;;

One I like on that test is the Konica 65-135/4, which is about 1/3 lighter than the 24-105:

Lumix S5, Konica Hexanon 65-135/4 (even resolves the bulbs on the strings of Xmas lights)

...though it's still too heavy to really be usable on the fp.
