I saw this video review from Richard Wong this morning and he reports that this lens will be available soon for the L-mount.

Performance seems OK with weaknesses in vignetting and wide-open sharpness, which I suppose is to be expected given the price and compact size. I'd have preferred better optical performance even at a higher price but I'm happy to see the L-mount finally get a compact and fast standard prime.

No mention of this lens on TTartisans website yet and no other indication of when it's be available.

And it's AF, which is nice for these budget brands.

It looks like the L-mount version is going to come later

I just watched Richard's video. It seems like a really nice compact option for pairing with the S9 or the BF. Personally, I'd probably still go for the Sigma 35mm f2 i-Series because of its better IQ, but on the other hand it is notably bigger (but the Sigma is still not a huge lens like their 35mm f1.4, say).

That's why I didn't take it for the S9, because of the weight.

I might have guessed. A Meike 35/2 arrived today, and this would be smaller and 120g lighter. The Meike has a wx ring on the mount and nice sunstars, so I'm fine with it.

What's really weird is that TTArtisan did this to me before, announcing their 10mm f/2 on the day I ordered Laowa's 10/2 for my μ43 kit; no regrets there either, but strange!!

Of course this will arrive Any Day Now for L mount.. maybe we'll see it by Christmas if they hurry? I asked Samyang about their plans on Wed, and no additional L mount lenses are currently planned. I find their lack of participation in the Alliance.. disturbing.

Yeah, I don't know why Samyang bothered to join. They could have had the budget side of the L-mount to themselves with a good head-start on Meike, TTArtisans, 7Artisans etc, with their lenses just needing a new mount, but no.

A user on Reddit, who apparently has been in touch with TTArtisans customer support, said yesterday that they expect the L-mount version to be available from mid September. I'm not sure if that will be "available" or "available but with terrible v1 firmware" that we'll have to wait to be fixed, as often seems to be the case with Chinese lenses.

It seems to be available already for L-mount :

Thanks to Richard Wong for the piece of news:

Not in Europe yet...

Amazon Spain now has a product page for it and states shipping in two to three days with delivery expected between the sixth and thirteenth of October. I take from that that stock is imminent. I'll likely place an order on Monday.

Gave up waiting, just bought myself the Lumix S 35mm f1.8 for a good price. Same size as all the other Lumix S 1.8's I own by all accounts, I can live with that. And I know for sure it will AF just fine on my S5 classic :)

My main reason for wanting the TTArtisan is the small size so there isn't really any alternative just now, I can wait another few weeks.

I'm exceedingly happy with the 18mm, 50mm & 85mm Lumix S lenses I currently own, I'm even still really really happy with my 26mm f8, I expect that the 35mm will be just more of the same. No fuss, no drama, it just works :)

Quoted, because we're children that can't be trusted to edit our posts, but I had a little think about it, & how I shot on my last trip, but if I'm concerned about size, weirdly enough I'll take a zoom. Namely my Siggy 28-70mm f2.8. Quite the turnaround from my m4/3 days when I stop and think. Anyways.....................

The Lumix 35mm f/1.8 is my favourite Lumix prime, and I even have the 50mm f/1.4 PRO...

The 35mm is so good that I use it to photograph works of art, like paintings, etchings, etc. And for video it is just perfect. Underrated lens...

I've already got the Sigma 45mm f2.8 which is almost identical in dimensions.

I'd be interested in another pancake lens for the S9 if someone makes one.
