The Lumix 26mm f/8 lens is free if you pre-order a Lumix S9

The 26mm f/8 lens is free if you pre-order a Lumix S9. This is for Panasonic USA; I don't know about other countries. (But it is probably the same.). The procedure is to pre-order the camera and when it arrives register with Panasonic and submit the serial number and dealer information. Then place an order wth with Panasonic for the free lens. This might take a while but I have a flock of L-mount lenses to use with the camera.

I had actually ordered the lens and am off to cancel that order.

In The Netherlands you have to order a kit with the 26mm, and is a lot more expensive.

Panasonic USA had a similar offering when they introduced the S5. Pre-order the S5 and get the Sigma 45mm for free. That's how I got the 45mm. I actually got it from another guy who wanted a second S1 for his photography business; he got the S5 and considered it too small. So I traded my S1 to him for his S5 and the Sigma 45mm. We were both happy. :)

yeah I hoping I'd get one for pre-ordering the s5ii but c'est la vie.

Been viewing a few sample shots out of the little 26mm pancake. He he he he, does this sort the men from the boys, as far as using a manual focus lens goes. Lots of bad technique floating around out there, the lens is sharp. If you know what you're doing :)

There are really very different opinions about the image quality of that lens. That kind of motivates me to try it out one day....
When kit buyers are trying to get rid of them for near free, because they can't shoot with it, I'll more than likely grab one. I reckon one would go really nicely on my S5. More interested in the 26mm, than the 18-40mm to be honest.
I have no fear of manual focus lenses
