I’ll add photos to this thread as my trip progresses.

1) The Toothed Black Lion

This was a little place tucked away near to a small Shinto shrine (Namiyoke Inari-jinja) in the Tsukiji Fish Market area in Tokyo. S5 with Sigma 35/2.

Yeah, well. I decided I needed something wider then 24mm, so the S5 it was. And I've been finding 14mm not wide enough (see above)!

I did. Couldn't resist it. In the end I figured that I probably needed low light and wide angle, so it was the best thing to do. No regrets so far!

maybe the only regret you have is all the time spend on thinking and trying about what gear to bring :cool:. Been there, done that.. I know, it's not funny and the reason I don't want to have multiple systems. Ok... only a GR3, but that one is really small, and will always go with me. But you made the right choice, nice pictures and the S5 is a lot smaller and lighter then the s1r is.
 
nice photos Paul! Especially love the Shiodome Station photo! I walked past that area so many times but never noticed such beautiful buildings :eek:
 
Lovely shots. They bring back memories...

If you have time, may I recommend a visit to the Meiji Jingu shrine and gardens in Tokyo.

Thanks Richard. I liked the architecture arounf the Shiodome area. Very clean and modern in its design.

Did you ride the Shinkansen? When I traveled to Kyoto to visit the Kinkaku-Ji, I got a Green Car seat on the Hayabusa. It was worth every yen, doing 300+ Kph on rails.

Yes we did. Tokyo to Kyoto in no time at all. Overall a great experience. We’ve got two more Shinkansen trips to come too!

But best of all was that we got some spectacular views of Mount Fuji en route. Including this one that Mrs K took with her phone!

5) My Inner Zen

Did a tea ceremony today and then visited a beautiful area called Daitoku-ji Shinju-an with a number of temples and lots of acer trees. More pics to follow, but I did this shot of some fallen acer leaves.
