I would still wait a bit. How longer the tariffs mess between China and the US, how cheaper it will get here because they want to sell more products in Europe.

I am not sure about this. My guess is that they will decrease the production to avoid this price war.

And they can increase also the prices in Europe and Asia to put the weight of US tarriffs on several shoulders. Thanks to this they do not have to raise the US prices so much, because they earn more in the other regions. On the while this means more sales and better margins than the other way around.

At the moment, nothing is for sure and I would not bet on anything.

They cannot. The materials were already bought, the machines planned. Most is also already manufactured.

You can see it already with the NVIDIA RTX 50xx cards, they were way more expensive that the MSRP, and continue out of stock.

Now they are in stock in whole europe, for prices even lower than the MSRP.

I'm going to buy quite a monster PC soon, hopefully at the end of the month, so I'm checking the prices a lot .

With NVIDIA this is a different story. They lose the Chinese market because Trump does not allow them to sell there. Nothing. This is not a tarriff problem anymore. This is a multi-billion market for them. China is their second biggest market worldwide. They are not allowed to sell there no matter at which price.

No comparison to photo gear in the US for camera companies. They can still sell to the US, just at a higher price. I do not believe that they will raise the US price at full level of the tarriffs. They will do a mixed price calculation for all their sales worldwide. All will become more expensive, but at a level at which people can still afford it and buy it. Otherwise all US dealers would get out of business and then you have no places at all to sell your products in the future.

Therefore they will IMHO compensate what the can not raise in prices for the US with price increases in the rest of the world. Thanks to this, on average, they will not lose a lot of their margin and the US dealers can survive. photo gear is not such a high volume mass production like graphic cards. I am sure they reduced their production already in December last year. It was already well known, that Trump will introduce tarriffs.

But of course I could be wrong.

We will see who has the right point, for us Europeans I hope the prices will be lowered, for the people from the US I hope the tariffs are gone soon.

But for a bit more context:
