With NVIDIA this is a different story. They lose the Chinese market because Trump does not allow them to sell there. Nothing. This is not a tarriff problem anymore. This is a multi-billion market for them. China is their second biggest market worldwide. They are not allowed to sell there no matter at which price.
No comparison to photo gear in the US for camera companies. They can still sell to the US, just at a higher price. I do not believe that they will raise the US price at full level of the tarriffs. They will do a mixed price calculation for all their sales worldwide. All will become more expensive, but at a level at which people can still afford it and buy it. Otherwise all US dealers would get out of business and then you have no places at all to sell your products in the future.
Therefore they will IMHO compensate what the can not raise in prices for the US with price increases in the rest of the world. Thanks to this, on average, they will not lose a lot of their margin and the US dealers can survive. photo gear is not such a high volume mass production like graphic cards. I am sure they reduced their production already in December last year. It was already well known, that Trump will introduce tarriffs.
But of course I could be wrong.
