I was just browsing Sigma lenses online and suddenly noticed a new camera called BF. It seems no one on the forums is discussing it, so I'd like to know what everyone thinks about it.

We had discussions about it and some of our members bought the Sigma BF. But the main thread about the Sigma BF did not have the Sigma BF name in its title. I added this now. You can find it here:

Beautiful camera. I tried it out on a photo event before its launch. Fast AF etc. I love the user interface. I hope Sigma will continue in this direction and will add more models with this spirit in the future. A Sigma BF2 with an EVF for example.

The only downside I see is no EVF, the screen in bright sunlight and the lack of a grip. In hot weather, this can be slippery. The black version because of the painting even more than the silver version

It's an excellent if not a quirky camera as it does not have an SD card slot, viewfinder (or a means to mount one) and a minimum of buttons too.
It's battery hungry so you need extra batteries (other cameras have the same issue) and it switches off after a short spell but you learn to keep checking to see if it's gone to sleep or not. The image quality is worth the purchase, but there's no IBIS and it really needs a hand grip for security and comfort. I have a Tilta grip which is perfect especially as this lets you use a wrist strap (there are no traditional neck strap loops) attached to the loop hole.
The sigma lenses are a perfect match too especially the 35 & 45mm lenses and you can use any L/mount lens too.
I had a Limix S f2.8 24-60mm on it a week or so ago and it worked great.
