News Sigma 35mm f1.2 ART DG II

I'm waiting for a good price again on the Lumix S 18-40mm. I think. Or I might grab the Siggy 17mm F4. Not entirely sure yet. That will make a fabulous little walkabout kit, that still weighs less than the 24-105. But gives you F2.8 from 28-70mm. And 18mm as well. 70mm @ F2.8 works good enough for me, it can just about replace my Lumix 85mm F1.8. Which I didn't really see coming lol.
I've been rolling with the Lumix S 14-28mm (which is one of my all time favourite lenses) and Siggy 28-70mm, but I reckon that the 18-40mm could replace the 14-28mm quite a bit of the time. Mostly just for the 18-20mm range.
Kicking myself a little bit, there was a really good sale on them a couple of months back, $620 Australian but for some reason I didn't jump. Dumb.
Anyway, we shall see. I was kind of hoping something would happen before I head off to China in a few weeks for a couple of months holiday, I may just have to console myself with the 14-28mm & Siggy 28-70mm. First world problem's hey lol lol lol

And what, exactly, does this have to do with the Sigma 35mm f/1.2? Why do you feel the need to post the above?

If I had to pick one lens for a trip though, the 24-105 would still be my number 1

Would you pick for this the Lumix 24-105/4.0 over the Sigma 28-70/2.8 in this scenario?

If yes, why? Because of the 24mm?

Hey guys, please cool down. No reason to get into higher speed ;)

I fell in the same trap and went off-topic. Sometimes this happens and if it is possible, we try to move these posts then into a new thread with a new title afterwards.

In this case here this is not possible, because several posts have comments on and off topic at the same time within the same comment.

I'm perfectly cool. I love off-topic. It's brilliant, makes threads way more interesting. Variety is the spice of life after all. Not all staid, clinical and regimented.

Oh, off-topic is fine with me too. It was a genuine question, but it does not need to be explicitly answered. I should have just let it go, you are correct.
