Ha ha ha. OP -which 24/8-70mm f2.8 lens should I buy?
Clamoring crowd -buy the f4 24-105. He he he.
To be fair, I totally understand, the 24-105mm range is probably my favorite focal range. I came from Nikon Z previously and I absolutely adored their 24-120mm f4 S lens. My wife uses the GH5II and the PanaLeica 12-60mm f2.8-4 is incredibly versatile and it's her favorite lens of all time.

It's just that for some reason Lumix lenses are just a lot more expensive in Malaysia compared to Sigma, and they lose value quickly in the used market too because there's too few people using them in Malaysia. That's why I hope Sigma releases a 24-105mm in the future. That said, if I manage to see a nice deal on the Lumix 24-105mm I might just pull the trigger

I've nothing against the 24-105's, they simply just don't appeal to me. I've got the Canon EF 24-105L since new, had it for 9 years? or so, would be lucky if it's taken 100 photos. Tried it on my EF to L mount adapter out of curiosity on the S5, nothing's changed, I probably should sell it.

Could you not buy it from Wex in the UK?

It's not as if the Brits left the EU or anything :p

Since the Brexit of the UK, this is very expensive due to customs and extra taxes.

Sorry but I've discovered more UK deals with the MPB trade-in codes and they are sickenly good plus you get further 10% off with the newsletter sign-up?

I think you need to trade £250 worth in and MPB collect it from your house.

https://panasonicdirect.store.panasonic.co.uk/c-1279-mpb-imaging-offers.aspx

For example: S5II camera, 20-60mm F3.5-5.6, 50mm F1.8, 100mm f2.8 MACRO lenses... £2499 with £1000 MPB voucher then a further 10% off newletter or 15% Student discount?

Another: S5II camera, 20-60mm F3.5-5.6 and 70-200mm F2.8 PRO lens... £2799 with voucher o_O

I'm not sure about the further discount but howcome you can't get similar deals in the EU?

Germany is the cash cow for the photo industry. It seems that the German custo ers are willing to pay more for the same than in other countries.

With cars it is the same...

But within the EU you can make use of online offers in other EU countries, as long as the dealer's are shipping to your country. Many dealers do so.

However UK isn't EU anymore. I don't know, maybe the import to UK got cheaper with brexit and so companies can make better offers. I work in Germany for a Swiss company and I know many electronics often are cheaper in Switzerland despite the living coasts in Switzerland are much higher. Maybe it's got similar in the UK with brexit.

That is the issue. You need to add around 30% for import customs and taxes from UK to Germany.

Last year I bought coffer grinder in the UK, because it was only sold from the UK worldwide. UK price was 499€, I ended up with a bill of over 750€.

No no no mission anything got cheaper in the UK post Brexit. All those high import charges were always in place and now includes the EU except the bit where I live because it is not in GB and still in EU single market.

Well I found what I bought, S5ii & 24-105, in Germany for €2199 ~ £1881 GBP and I paid £1899 so that is roughly the same price, it doesn't make any sense that UK would be cheaper, it is not a cheap place to live for anything, I could live in the Canary Islands and everyday itens are cheaper, food and electricith here is ridiculous... Electricity is £0.44p/kWh in this part!

Unfortunately, it is more expensive. You reduced the 500€ discount twice. The offer you linked to shows the final price is 2.699€. This is 500€ more expensive than in the UK.

Brands make different prices for different countries all the time. In the old times, they protected this buy putting different model numbers on the camera bodies, but this is not possible anymore because of cost reductions.

Oooops, my mistake, seems different to the UK stores which add the discount in checkout.

Yes I see your point now.

I have purchased the Lumix S 24-105 f4 as well. The Sigma 28-70 still lives on my camera but there are times when I need more reach and the 24-105 fits the bill very nicely. That little extra reach is good and having more zoom range for video. I got a sweetheart deal on a new one. The other bonus with the 24-105 is Dual OIS on a my Lumix S5 and S5Ilx.
