Actually when I tried to place my order for the free lens I didn't get the order code back from Panasonic North America. I sent them note asking why, and will give them a call tomorrow.

This thing is so much fun, it has a mode called Crop Zoom (Photo). You can use fixed lenses as well, and crop up to a 3.5X zoom. This is with jpeg, and if you shoot RAW+jpeg, the jpeg is cropped but the RAW isn't. I really wish I'd figured this out earlier, I was taking snapshots of some friends and family yesterday with the 24mm and wish I could have zoomed in some. Also I've been using the Sigma 45mm, it's a small lens and fits nicely with the S9. And the transfer to my iPhone is really fast, so I can quickly send photos to friends.

Panasonic North America replied to my note and sent the personal coupon code for the 26mm F8, so I ordered the free lens. No idea how long it will take to arrive, but when I get it I'll post a report.
In Germany, Photo Erhardt has just received S9. Mine is on its way to me...
As far as I can see, it is the only shop with available S9, others give long delivery times.
I got it in red, with the 35 1.8- they did not have the combo with the Sigma 35mm F2, which I would have preferred. But I think I will get eventually the Samyang 24 F2.8 instead for a really small combo, and all the S primes are great.

I will not be buying one! Promise. I vowed years ago that I’d never buy another camera without an EVF. Total deal breaker.Can't wait until moderator Paul buys one as he says he won't

I'm from the same realm as you. S9 has different advantages for less imposing social scenarios etc.
Since I don't even use the rear screen keeping it closed that says it all. I've yet to use it on a tripod close to the ground where I will be using the screen.
I'm not ruling it out though in 10 years for £100

The faux leather is nicer than I thought.
Red was the right choice, though I am still looking at blue.
The app is (pixel 7) very laggy and quite confusing. I cannot make automatic transfer work.
It handles well without extra grip, with the primes. The 35mm is niiiice.
It is definitely less intimidating than any other similar camera, for social use. It is nice with the 28-200 or 20-60. I may be lucky, both are friggin sharp.
Now wondering if the sigma 90 F2.8 is the way to go or the lumix 85 F1.8. Anyone has both?

The Sigma 90 is significantly smaller. I sold my Lumix 85/1.8 again because of this.

I don't have an S9 yet, but I have ordered a Sigma 90mm f/2.8 and a 24mm f/3.5 (I already have the 45mm f/2.8 and 35mm f/2), as these lenses will go well with the S9. Compact size and an aperture ring make them a good match.
