Tomorrow is the big day! Post all your links to reviews etc here.

The party has been spoiled by Andrea and the leakers. What else are you going to discover about it?

According to L-Rumors, there is another "surprise" by Panasonic.

That would be really cool ! Z04 Carrot

Please Panasonic & Sigma, please kill the rest of the market with new, exciting products!

Here is the leaked press text translated by Google:

Panasonic is proud to introduce the LUMIX S1RII, the latest high-resolution full-frame mirrorless camera in the LUMIX S series.

The camera features a newly developed 44.3 MP BSI CMOS sensor and a high-performance processor with L2 technology, which work together to deliver impressive photos and videos with the natural colour reproduction valued in LUMIX cameras.

With revolutionary video performance, this is the first LUMIX camera to enable 8K video recording with a 14-degree*1 tonal range, expanding the possibilities for filmmaking. The popular Open Gate function has been improved and now allows recording in 6.4K, and in a future software update even in 8.1K / 7.2K*2. Furthermore, as the first camera in the LUMIX S series, this model supports internal recording in 5.8K in Apple ProRes RAW HQ / ProRes RAW*3 format on a CFexpress Type B card. This enables high-quality video to be recorded with minimal set-up, without the need for external equipment or cables, providing greater mobility for standalone shoots and small-scale productions.

Enhanced phase hybrid AF with real-time detection, now with artificial intelligence-based tracking, quickly and accurately detects eyes and people’s faces and smoothly tracks movements. With a continuous shooting mode at approximately 40 fps*4 and AF tracking, dynamic subjects can be captured with remarkable accuracy and effortlessness.SH pre-burst mode starts shooting even before you fully press the shutter button, ensuring you don’t miss a shot.

Our acclaimed image stabilisation system is constantly being improved. The LUMIX S1RII achieves exposure compensation of 8.0 degrees*5 with in-body stabilisation and 7.0 degrees*6 even in the telephoto range thanks to Dual I.S. 2. Advanced video stabilisation includes E.I.S. distortion correction without cropping, which reduces peripheral distortion while maintaining the original angle of view. This allows greater flexibility when shooting handheld at wide angles. The newly designed compact body and tilt and swivel screen adapt to any working style, making this model an excellent choice for those seeking both mobility and creative freedom.

The LUMIX S1RII camera, will be compatible with the LUMIX Lab mobile app, allowing LUT tables to be installed directly on the camera. This streamlines the post-production process, making it easier to deliver materials to clients, giving more time to focus on creative work.A new LUMIX Flow app will also be introduced, which will optimise workflow for a variety of projects such as short films, documentaries, music videos and corporate promotional materials. It will offer a range of functions, from storyboarding and recording to file organisation. The LUMIX S1RII camera integrates with third-party software, such as Frame.io, for more efficient post-production and team collaboration. For the first time in the history of LUMIX cameras, the LUMIX S1RII supports tethering via Capture One, helping creatives in a variety of production circumstances.

Guided by our philosophy of creating technology that ignites creative passion, the LUMIX S1RII is a next-generation mirrorless camera created for creatives looking to realise their unique vision.

I am impressed with this one. How do they do that? A bit of Ai?

I think is the hybrid flagship we were waiting for. I am vey curious about the camera to be presented in April. And later this year the S1Hii.

I think I will not ressist and will get one of the three... Selling part of my current gear, of course, because otherwise... Z04 Wife

Our other Lumix S1Rii thread has already 17 pages and well above 300 postings. For users coming new to the S1Rii party, this is too much for a first overview. Therefore I add here some images from L-rumors.com, to be able to see easier how this new S1Rii will look like:

I know that problem. I am already way over my photo budget. Originally I wanted to sell some lenses and the Lumix S9 a few months ago to finance in 2025 new gear, but I can not convince myself to sell these. Z04 Popo Versohlen

I don't think anymore it will be the S1Hii anymore. It is a high range niche camera if I understand correctly. Perhaps the EVA2 ?

You don't necessarily need a wife to restrict oneself from mindless consumerism. I feel bad enough owning one mirrorless digital camera as I don't feel I use it enough to justify it. This has partially happened because I'm at the opposite end of the honeymoon period and only take it out when I think it is worth it speculating on and trying to calculate ideal atmospheric conditions for landscape. But after that disgusting horrible overcastvwinter things can only get better and now beginning to witness nice light.

I do regret buying full darkroom equipment and I'll probably end up dumping it all. Too many Ansel Adams videos 10 years ago. :(

Processing B&W negatives is still fairly minimalist and cheap enough though.

The press release sounds like the S1Rii would be more a video than a photo camera... strange...
look what happened with the r5II or z6III. It seems that all manufacturers need to pump all cameras up to full hybrid beasts to gain some market and avoid the label failed camera. I think we're all part that it is like it is now. :) However I wish I could get hands on a s1rII :p

The thing is: Lumix Camera's always get cheaper in time and are also available for a long time. I would not be suprised if a new flagship comes out in 2 years, and this camera wil be the S5iiX replacement for many...

And wo knows, perhaps a nice discount already at the end of the year at CameraNu.nl or KameraExpress.nl...
