I love that big sign! Very cool.

I always liked the Amoco logo and some of the other long-gone signs. They remind me of my youth! There was a recent rebrand in Australia with all Caltex gas stations rebranding to Ampol which was a long-gone brand. That was cool.
Well. it turned out 'one of these days' was 'on the drive home from Thanksgiving visits'. :) So here you are:

I took this a couple of nights ago when I set out with the intention of trying to shoot some star trails. Having set the camera up it became clear that what I thought was light pollution from the local recycling plant was actually something a bit more exciting. I got a couple of record shots of the Aurora but high clouds soon meant a lack of definition even though the colours showed through so I thought I'd try a silhouette of this fabulous beech tree. Taken with the original S5 and Sigma 24-70 f2.8 Art
