It was a beautiful afternoon last Thurs and after a morning of desk work, I decided to load up the camera bag with the S1R and a couple of lenses and head over to a local National Trust property called Packwood House. It has a nice lake with the house in the background and since the wind was light, I took my tripod and ND filter with the intention of some long exposure shots over the lake.
So I got there (about a 35 minute drive), took the gear out of the car, and walked the half mile or so to the opposite side of the lake, and set up the tripod. I carefully put the S1R onto the tripod, took off the body cap and fitted the 14-28. I then turned on the camera and it said ... "No memory card"! No problem I thought, I have some spares in the bag. But I have a new bag that I bought recently (a Three-legged Thing on offer from Wex that I thought would be super useful for Japan) - and of course, I hadn't transferred over the cards!
After 30s of cursing I calmed down and decided to just enjoy the afternoon. But I did take a few shots with my iPhone and I used the Halide app which generates raws on the iPhone 11 Pro (which the base phone OS doesn't support). I was actually quite surprised by the results.... They are processed in LR from the DNGs off the phone.
