Parkour? Skateboarding? Urban climbing? I'm not sure why any of these need their own AF mode. Maybe they should fix some of the basic AF modes first. What the hell are "urban sports"? Standing on a running train? Running away from thieves?

At least you will have the option to buy one of the new models. Living in the U.S., the new models will either be unavailable or priced out of reach, unless and until the tariffs on Chinese goods come back down to earth. It was fortunate for me that the first S1Rii shipments made it into the U.S. before the tariffs hit. The new S1 models are a bit late to the party. I suppose I could ask my brother to bring me one from Norway on his next visit, in which case I will only have to pay moms (Norway's VAT). I never thought that European value added taxes would seem like a tax break!Sounds like the S1iie would be the one I was hoping for h if it is in a Knaller body than the original S1.
Good timing for me to buy the S1Rii a week ago....![]()
Very interesting: looks like the S1IIE has more or less the same sensor as the S5II(X).S1IIE, officially announced in Brasil:

Parcour... Street basketball... Skateboarding...What the hell are "urban sports"? Standing on a running train? Running away from thieves?
It looks like the S1Rii has a much better sensor than the S1iiE, if I understand the Brazilian site correctly, that is more or less the same sensor as the S5ii(X) have. But ofcourse the price is very reasonable for that.Even the EVF is with 5.7MP the same like in the S1RII. Panasonic is smashing the market with this trio S1II, S1IIe, S1RII and of course the older S5ii/x and S5.
I wonder whether I would have bought the S1RII, if the S1IIe would have been announced already...![]()
I wonder, might this be a 'standard' people recognition mode, but sticks more on the subject when a lot of other people are present?Parcour... Street basketball... Skateboarding...

You are outside your return policy?Even the EVF is with 5.7MP the same like in the S1RII. Panasonic is smashing the market with this trio S1II, S1IIe, S1RII and of course the older S5ii/x and S5.

I am guessing that someone made a mistake, making this website available before the official launch!S1IIE, officially announced in Brasil:

Different sensor, partially stacked, which offers 4K-120fps and a lot of other resolution/fps combo's. Less rolling shutter.I am guessing that someone made a mistake, making this website available before the official launch!
I will be keen to see how the S1II differs from the 'E' version.
Thanks John.Different sensor, partially stacked, which offers 4K-120fps and a lot of other resolution/fps combo's. Less rolling shutter.
Perhaps slightly less dynamic range. Not really an issue for video, but might be for photos.
I hope BRAW, but I'm afraid it won't...
I am looking for any reason (feature, spec, etc.) to "upgrade" from my S5ii and S5iix to the S1iie... but I have not found any yet... I don't know, I am confused... maybe the screen and evf?It looks like the S1Rii has a much better sensor than the S1iiE, if I understand the Brazilian site correctly, that is more or less the same sensor as the S5ii(X) have. I might be more interested in the standard S1ii, but for me the price is too steep at launch.
Also better mechanical shutter (10fps mechanical) and probably burst options with 14 bit RAW.EVF, tilting screen, CFexpress card slot (if you have always many images), slightly better grip (but chunkier body), probably better AF (if the chip is better)
I can not not say anything about the video spec differences.
Read my other thread about the S1Rii from the perspective of a S5ii user.
