Richard Wong covers this in his review. It is in-camera, jpeg only.Hmm... is that focus stacking feature a new announcement? I don't remember reading about it during the S1II announcement. Wondering if it's in-camera or not.

I agree. I wish it worked with RAW, but it does work wih HEIF which has one more bit over JPEG, which helps in post processing.Focus stacking works very well
Nice. I tried several things with the focus ring but didn't think of exposure comp. This is a good use for it.The ability to use the focus ring is very helpful in M mode + Auto ISO since it gives a dial to which I can assign exposure comp.
Good to hear that the transfer from CFE to SSD is so fast. That is going to be a useful feature. However, if you still want to use a reader at times, I suggest getting a ProGrade reader. They are extremely fast - MUCH faster than the reader I bought 4 years or so ago. This is on a 2021 MBP.I agree. For video I tried the new 8K open gate style. It works well.
Another thing I tried which is very useful is to in-camera move video files from the CFexpress card to a SSD. An issue with the S1RM2 is that video files take a very very long time to download, and this firmware upgrade solves that problem. I shot a couple minutes of 8K open gate which gave a 4.5GB file. This would take at least 5 minutes to download with my card reader. If I connect the camera directly to my computer with USB this is reduced to 2 or 3minutes. But the in-camera transfer from the CFexpress card to a SSD is about 5 seconds. Then I can connect the SSD to my computer and edit directly from the file on the SSD. Or if I transfer the file on the SSD to my computer disk this takes 2 seconds. I had put off doing any serious video with the S1RM2 until this ugrade was available and I had a chance to test it.
Yeh, I have had a ProGrade in my B&H cart for a while but haven't pulled the trigger yet. However, if you still want to use a reader at times, I suggest getting a ProGrade reader.
I assigned the Crop Zoom feature to the Manual Focus ring of the Lumix S PRO 50mm F/1.4. Now it is become a zoom lens that goes from 50mm to 100mm (limited to the "S" size, 11 mpx). For video it reaches 104mm...I tried several things with the focus ring
