News Lumix S1II & S1IIe live event party

I think it makes the lineup unnecessary complicated. Sony for example is now in in the fourth generation with the A7 and getting in to the fifth. Nobody will think about the A7V as a dead product because it has some predecessors.

Also the S5 line up is Panasonic's most successful full frame line up. There will be a successor for the S5II sooner or later. But it makes it difficult to see where Panasonic gonna put it. Will it share the S1II sensor and therefore outperform the S1IIE? Or will it get the same sensor again? But how improve it over the S5II but let it be below the S1IIE?

If it would be a cheaper S1II without mechanical shutter but the same sensor, everybody would know what the E stands for, why it's cheaper and why to pay about double the price of an S5II.
Or the S1IIE is already the replacement and there won't be any new S5 series ever...

Main difference is the sensor. S1RII 44MP non stacked, S1II 24MP half stacked according to rumors. Alle the rest we will know for sure later. Incl. comparisons.

Can anyone just briefly, summarize the difference between S1Rii, S1ii and S1iiE ? (I guess that the latter two is released at the event and specs are not disclosed yet, but). Well this is many «Formel1» speed professionals cameras, very exciting indeed ! The candy store for adults…
S1RII has 44 Mpix Sensor, S1II will get a new, fast 24.2 Mpix Sensor, S1IIE will get the old sensor we already know from the S5ii. The S1II will have the fastest sensor and can do up to 70fps. The S1RII can do up to 40fps and the S1RII can do the same 30fps like the S5II. All three share the same body design.

those are still rumours for the next 2 hours!

Well, the hole data sheet of both cameras already leaked. The S1IIe was already (falsely, to early) announced by a official Panasonic website.
that one was just to keep the impatient persons happy... and they probably will show something new !

Only 60 minutes left.... take the popcorn and something cool to drink. This will be a loooong day...

...because Panasonic is on fire!

I’m wondering how the S1ii e will be differentiated from the S5ii. They seem very similar cameras. At least in the S1 S5 era, the differences were quite marked in terms of size, weight, EVF, build, handling etc. But now they are quite similar in all these aspects.
Well, for me the main reasons to upgrade from the S5ii to the S1iie are:

Viewfinder (oled, 5.76 million dots)
Screen/Monitor free angle
CF Express B
ARRI logC3
Audio 32bit float (XLR2)
Cropless E-stabilization
Cinemascope 4k60p aspect ratio

The Urban sports AF mode is not for me... But it is certainly meaningfull...

There are several sample images of the 24-60 at photography blog and dpreview

Look at minute 11. There will be a SSD backup feature directly from the camera to the SSD without a PC!!! just with a USB-C cable. This is so great!!!! Z04 Discosmilie

This will be coming across to the S1RII and the S1IIe as well!

DPreview has to one of the most incompetent review sites out there. I've looked through the early review of the 24-60mm, and couldn't see any mention of whether the lens was weather sealed or not
