Lumix is the spiritual successor to Pentax and has already beaten Sony..

I'm a long time Pentax shooter and I recently bought a Sony A74 because of all the marketing hype behind it but when I compared it to my Pentax K1 ii I felt like the Sony wasn't nearly as good in many ways except video, so I then returned the Sony camera to get a Lumix S5 ii and was shocked that the Lumix not only blew out the Sony, but it also surpassed my Pentax on the Photography side, and coming from someone that has been shooting with Pentax camera's since 2002, that is extremely high praise. I made a video showing the similarities between both cameras and even show the difference in image quality, check it out and let me know what you think:

Very interesting video. @Oíche used to participate in this forum. He was a Pentax user and was impressed by everything he could do with his Lumix S5ii.

As for lenses, over 100 native lenses have been manufactured, including Leica, Sigma, and Lumix. Other smaller manufacturers like Laowa, Samyang, TTArtisan, and /Artisans also make L-mount lenses. And there are more, including anamorphic lenses. It seems that adding them all up, they almost reach 200, including APS-C lenses. Here are some lists:

As for zooming with a prime lens, Lumix cameras have an option called "Crop zoom," which allows you to zoom up to almost double the focal length (i.e., from 50mm to 100mm), and it's a very interesting option, especially for video.

The ergonomics of Lumix full-frame cameras are really good, I don't know if they're as good as a Pentax DSLR, but if you find the Lumix S5ii comfortable and easy to handle, the S1Rii or S1ii will impress you even more.

I must say that I really like the Panasonic S cameras. I was a long time Olympus user and dabbled from time to time with FF mirrorless; trying both Sony and Nikon. When I dipped my feet into Panasonic FF, I bought a bargain used S5 from eBay and the cheapest 20-60 that was up for sale at MPB (£135). Despite the whole lot costing well under £1000, I absolutely loved it and it delivered the goods so far as IQ was concerned. I've since had an S5ii, S1, S1R, and now an S1Rii. The S5ii, S1, and S1R have departed for owners new, but I've kept the S5 as backup to the S1Rii. But really the S1Rii is the best and most complete camera I've ever had.
