I got a PM from a user, asking what will happen if he uses a TL lens on a SL fullframe body or later on a Panasonic Lumix S1R or S1.

Leica offers two different sensor size system with the same L-Mount. Like Nikon does it with their F-mount and DX and FX systems.

If you use lenses from the TL system, they are engineered to fit only for the smaller APS-C sized sensor. With Leica fullframe cameras, the bodies realizes that this is not a fullframe lens and it will automatically switch to the smaller APS-sensor format with less resolution.

My guess is, that this will be the same with the future Panasonic and Sigma fullframe bodies. I will check that with Panasonic and Sigma later...
