How did they go astray for so long, after excelling themselves with this beauty?
It's certainly very pretty, and I have a friend who likes that generation (I think it's that one) a lot.

But I also have a big soft spot for the 200 series; they just got something right with the proportions that gives a feeling of solid security, something they messed up on the 850. The first-generation S60 was another winner for me, managing to be aerodynamic while still retaining a personality and some bit of the chiseled look Volvo's had for decades.

Yeah, I'm actually quite a fan of the 240T. I was actually at the Wellington street race mentioned in this article where it won from the back of the grid. The commentators were laughing and mocking the Swedish Taxi, but it just got faster and faster as the race wore on, & then won it. Was a brilliant race to watch, loved them ever since

Paul and Xavier, nice shots. Vivid sunset and mist make a serene landscape. Impressive Baddesley Clinton monochrome - Was this Adobe/S5 mono or do you have presets that you have developed.? Whichever, it looked quite crisp and imposing.
I grabbed this shot during an awful "Australia Day' storm, where the Weather went from 40 Degrees C to 21 degrees C in 2 hours. Rain stopped for about 20 mins and I grabbed the 35mm f/2 APO on the SL2-S and rested the camera on the edge of a railing hoping to catch something. It was completely dark and I was hoping that if could catch it, the lightening would give me an eary look. ISO 3200 helped, whilst I do find the Leica/APO combo handle low light particularly well.
Very lucky to just hit the shutter at the right time.

It’s processed from raw, first in LR, then converted to mono using Nik Silver Efex (the “Wet Rocks” preset with some tweaks).

Very nice shot. Lightning shots with the S5/S5ii are much easier because they have Live Comp - no need to get lucky with shutter release timing.

BTW, I experienced a similar Australian storm when I was visiting there many years ago. I went out in a t-shirt and ended up wet and freezing! But I did get this shot (Olympus camera with Live Comp):

Not quite the same angle in this shot from July 2024 but the skyline has changed a bit down at Circular Quay.

I always shoot the same stuff... at the moment and for family reasons I can not travel much... But anyway, I just find this crossroad very photogenic :)
