Hello from Michigan

The Rigger

LMF-Patron Gold
New member here, I was referred to the Forums by the folks at MPB. I've just joined the 2020s, by trading in my old Canon 5D system for a previously-loved L-Mount mirrorless system; I just took delivery of (among other things) an OG Panasonic Lumix 5S, to be used for still photography & astrophotography. I'm beginning my attack of "Lens Acquisition Syndrome" with the Lumix S-series 20-60mm f/3.5-5.6, the Lumix S-series 50mm f/1.8, and the Sigma 135mm f/1.8 Art for shooting the stars.

Looking forward to learning a lot of new-to-me tricks & tech with this system. I must say, though, that trying to find a T-mount for coupling the camera body to a telescope has proven to be somewhat challenging... A lot more challenging than the "Usual Suspects" (e.g. Canon, Nikon, &c.) are, at any rate.

Welcome Dave! I think you'll like it here. Very friendly, helpful folks!

Hi Dave, and welcome to the forum! Daumenhoch

This is a great place for L-mount users. I don't know much about shooting the stars but hopefully someone else here will have some information to share.

Hey there! Glad to see you, and looking forward to seeing pics from Michigan. :) (
Old college roommate/friend of mine had family in the Portage area, and I’ve been up there a few times; really want to go back to the Kalamazoo Air Zoo and the Henry Ford museum.)
