I was in Athens very briefy in summer 2024 - I think it was the hottest day of the year, impossible to step out of the shade (and I live in Madrid!)

Athens is definitely high on the list of places I'd love to visit someday. One of the doctors I work with is going to Athens in a few weeks for a work conference, and we were talking about various places to see, the Acropolis being high on the list.

yes acropolis and the whole area around it its very nice to visit and you might like some of the ancient market etc

I've been to a lot of European countries, but never Greece. I should try to correct that !!

I would recommend it - just don't go in the summer! It was around 42ºC when I was there and the Acropolis was shut because the workers couldn't bear the heat. Even if it had been open I doubt we would have had the wearwithall for the climb up there.

yes,july and august are the worst months. Very hot.Very busy! September and June are amazing though as winter time in the mountains also!

Well, iffenwhen I have the money to make the trip, will plan along those lines!
