fp day: SIGMA celebrates the 5-year anniversary of the fp camera

Did anyone see Kazuto Yamaki's announcement of the fp 5 year anniversary event? - wondering if there might be some kind of product announcement? My interest is I'm thinking of buying fp or fp l for photography to complement Leica CL with TL lenses, plus vintage lenses. By the way thank you to the contributors to the "would you buy it" thread started by @dirk - very informative. P.S. apologies for no direct links, I'm new and was not allowed to post them

Here is the link:

The web page includes this note:

PS: We’ve read the rumors! No, we’re not announcing a new product at fp Day, we are genuinely celebrating the 5-year anniversary of the SIGMA fp. We want to share our SIGMA showroom experience with loyal users and new SIGMA fans alike, and enjoy a day of networking, education and fun.

Looks like it in terms of location, they mention special pricing but I don't plan to buy new (and "need" the camera before then...). Shame as the "merch" looks nice.

If you go for the fp L then it'll give you 26MP images with the APSC crop for your TL and CL lenses. And since you've been reading the "would you buy it" thread I'll just say that my opinion of the camera hasn't changed at all: I'm still enjoying mine immensely and reckon that it and the various i-series primes I own (17/4, 24/3.5, 35/2, 45/2.8 and 65/2) have given me a significant proportion of the best photos I've ever taken. I'm seriously considering getting a second fp L body when I can afford to since I like it so much...

In an interview with Digital Camera World Kazuto Yamaki said the future of the fp series hasn't been decided yet, but they want to evolve it.

My opinion also hasn't changed from the "would you buy it" thread; I still love the fp and it's still my most-used camera, by a wide margin. My main issue with it is still the awkwardness of the clip-on EVF; the lack of a physical shutter rarely causes me problems, and I love the high-ISO RAWs it puts out. (That was the first thing that impressed me from Steve Huff's review of it; low-light/high-ISO is very important for me.)

Thanks for that, Travis.

Does anyone use the colour modes, or only raw? With raw, what's best for conversion / post processing with the fp and fp l? I did see some mentions but that could have changed, software changes all the time.

TIA

I haven't used the colour modes a lot, but I've had some nice results with "Foveon Classic Blue":

I'm still using Iridient Developer to process the raws: I like the overall look of the results (particularly the colour) more than any other software I've tried. There's a free trial version that watermarks the images so you can experiment and see if you get on with it, but it's only available for the mac. I've also used Sigma Pro Photo: it's a bit odd, and very slow even on my 2021 macBook Pro, but the images it produces are really nice and it can emulate the camera's colour modes.

Thanks for that, Travis.

I don't use the color modes; RAW is a requirement for me. What would be nice is if the color modes could do a plain RAW and a RAW modified by the color mode...

I currently use On1 Photo RAW for post processing; I have a copy of Capture One from a couple of years ago that I've used for a few tough cases that On1 didn't handle well, but the last version has been pretty good.

BTW, you mentioned vintage lenses; which ones were you thinking of using? I do about 80-90% of my shots with vintage.

Thanks Travis, I have a few lenses, nothing notable but they give a different look. When I post images I'll include the lens. Maybe one day I'll invest for specific IQ, would welcome any recommendations.
