The house is surrounded on 3 sides by the mega-church’s large property, so that side of the street looks almost rural. But across the street, and in most of the adjoining neighborhoods, the houses are about 100 feet apart. Mostly single family homes and a few apartment complexes and parks.

I'd be tempted to buy it just to keep it out of the church's grubby little mitts, but that's just how I am. Plus it would give me an excuse to go back to PDX...

It is in Upper Austria. It is a Park for children with thousends of lights. It is open from November to February. Today is the last day.

You're talking to S5ii owner who did birding at 12800 and 20000, I know the score.

Always better to go as low as you can though as colour noise and DR suffer.

Ideally not above 6400 for anything, IMX410 is about the top which physically can be achieved in CMOS. IMX366 and others need to use 'trickery' in a broad sense of computational NR etc. Baked in NR has been used for a decade by now. I expect S1Rii to still be lagging somewhat but lets see what trickery is employed and the results. True astro fanatics will unravel such.

For me from Pentax K30 16MP APSC in 2012 to S5ii it's about 2 stops improvement, making my Samyang 14mm f2.8 like a f1.4 regarding astro/light gathering. Obviously it doesn't work for DOF!

Physical photon gathering wise we need different sensor tech, FoveOn is 1 stop faster without RGB filters but I believe that is a physical dead end unless they computationally compensate that successfully.

On dpreview there are good threads including the literal God of sensors but right now I forget his name as I'm rather worse for weary on cider

Yup. The fp, too. That was one of the biggest things that influenced me to rent and try the fp - a review with a shot of an interior scene, with dim red lighting, at high ISO - and it looked gorgeous.
 
I was having a thought on reacquiring the 85, and by seeing your images I know why I won’t. The images are nice! But for me the busy bokeh of the building and the trees behind at large apertures like these f2 images is why I didn’t like it too much for me. Especially the verticals behind/above the car, and the colored fringes, and tree upper left. It is totally subjective and depends on a lot of factors. But it happened for me on my first real outing back then and couldn’t unsee it. I think I posted pictures with a peacock back then.

Pictures are nice, it’s me, but wanted to share my thoughts. And I was wondering if Sigma 90/2.8 or Pana 100/2.8 does this too
 
Finally a bit of good weather.. Last Monday we still had some snow left.... and cold. Last Friday all of a sudden 18 celsius... and next week will be around zero again at night... sigh

Nice photos but look like purple snowdrops to me and always first to appear hence the name.

Yeah what a dreary winter that was, crap for photography too, no nice light but for the first time was lovely yesterday evening out on Belfast Lough shore ... Atmosphere and light is much nicer from here on... Stormy, nice clouds etc. and nicer than summer. Spring could be the optimum time for landscape. :)

Yeah, it does produce quite a bit of CA/fringing wide open (or near it) but that seems to be a feature of lots of lenses that I like. A lot. Examples being the Lumix S 50mm, m4/3 PL 25mm, Sigma 30mm f1.4, Lumix 42.5mm, to name a few:)
Edit -the 85mm does produce a bit more than the 50 I've noticed.
