***April 2025 Image and Video Thread***

I was browsing to some ads ( I know, bad for gas anyway) and found a nice as new 24/1.8  for 425. Had to drive to the city of cheese (GOUDA) to pick it up. But hey, I had nothing else to do this evening anyway. So the guy, full time videographer and photographer lived in the city centre. We discussed gear a bit and he showed some of his working pro gear, S5iix with s pro 24-70, not that big/heavy as I thought it would be, and very nice balanced! He also had an S9 with grip, and a 24-105 attached. Wow, that was very very unbalanced and very uncomfortable to hold. Of those two, I would definitely go for the first combo! So after a nice chat (and an invite to the forum) I did a quick tour through the city centre. To test out the low light capabilities of this very nice lens.

One thing I will say about the S1RII is that the deep blacks are WAY more pliable than the original S1R. The grass and yard detail at the bottom of the frame was nearly completely back before I pulled them up in post. Highlights are quite pliable as well.

So much for high-shadow-noise.

These photos are from the quaint rural township of Gunning in southern NSW, population 820. It has managed to retain quite a bit of its old-style charm.

Edit: it has a railway station which I also visited. Z04 Flucht

And here is the railway station (in the distance) with a loaded grain freight train working up the grade.
