I go to Wichita a lot for work, and when I go I often stop by one of the local parks, home to the Keeper of the Plains statue. I've taken a lot of pics there, and to a degree they've been repetitive; there's only so many angles you can get.

But lord, I love those angles, and even if the shot's repetitive, sometimes the conditions are just So Good.

I've hardly been to Wichita, but I'm pretty much an airplane person so I appreciate anything you post from there. At one time Wichita was known as the "Air Capital of the World". When I was a kid, 13 or 14, I got a call from a Cessna salesman. I think I had clipped a request for more Cessna information from an airplane magazine, and he was following up. It was a short call when he figured out my age. But since that early time I've flown about any Cessna you can imagine, from 120 and 140 trainers, up to the almost supersonic Citation X. There is lots of aviation heritage in Wichita.

Heh. Well, the pics from the next day are from the Kansas Aviation Museum, where the pic in the Xpan thread was taken, and there's more where that came from; I hope to get to them tonight or tomorrow, and that's another 108 pics to sort through. Sadly, there's a lot of pillars getting in the way, but were you a fan of the Staggerwing?

There have been some large tides and very rough seas where I live south of Sydney over the past few days, resulting in widespread beach damage. A lot of sand has disappeared, leaving the rock seawalls exposed and beaches closed.
