I've also looked at some reviews and they are mostly comparing it directly to the Sony 24-70 f/2.8 GM II where it holds up well. It is good to see this coming to L-Mount. I have the Sony lens for My A1, and will consider the Sigma whenever Panasonic introduces a smaller high pixel camera. These are big heavy lenses, but they perform well.

I watched many reviews about the mk2 version too. It seems that the image quality is "only" slightly better than the older version, but the new AF is a significant step forward.

Most reviewers say that for L-Mount, if you have already the MK1 version, and you do not miss anything, the upgrade would not be worth it. But if you have not been satisfied with the AF of MK1 version in the past, they advise to upgrade to the MK2 version.
