As you are probably aware, the engraving on the S5iiX Mode Dial is relatively dark grey lettering on the black Mode Dial. It looks super-cool in a internet influencer kinda way, but it's my least favorite feature of my camera. I find the dial almost impossible to read in dim light, and the on-screen indication on the LCD & in the EVF is incredibly tiny & equally hard to read.
So I did a little hack using the user manual PDF as source artwork, a bit of image editing, printing on laser label paper, and protected with poor-man's "lamination" (clear tape). I'm sure I'll live to regret it, but for the time being it's nice to be able to see what the Mode Dial is set to without having to grab a flashlight or look v-e-r-y c-l-o-s-e-l-y at the LCD or EVF.
And, no, I didn't use a "removable" paper label. That's the part I'll probably live to regret. Feel free to mock me. I can take it.
