I see Sigma have a new products (plural) announcement set for next Friday. Any chance they will be launching new products for the L-mount?
Ah, true, I've heard a rumour about that and it being for a couple of mounts could explain why it's "products" and not "product".According to rumors, we will get a new Sigma 14mm f1.4 DG DN Art Lens for L- and E-Mount.
I agree. Anything beyond 85mm is very restricted. What is it with all these wide options... come on, L Mount needs more telephoto, specifically an alternative 70-200 2.8 to the Pan version.
Well we do have the 135 DG Art which is a hefty beast
200mm f2.8.
A minor correction. The 100-400 DG DN is a contemporary lens, not a sport.Contemporary
16-28/2.8 DG DN
28-70/2.8 DG DN
...?
Sport
100-400/5-6.3 DG DN
60-600/4.5-6.3 DG DN
150-600/5-6.3 DG DN
...
My guess for 2023 would be (in that order):
- 70-200/2.8 (Art or Contemporary)
- A 28mm with F2.8 or F2.0
- A new 135/1.8 Art
- Smaller/lighter tele zoom with F4.5-5.6 (Contemporary)
...
Sigma offered a 2.8/180 long time ago. This is not a DG DN version. This is still the old DSLR version converted to L-Mount from 2017. I think 1.150kg and 82mm filter thread.
This is why I could imagine, that this will get a DG DN successor in 2023.
I have never seen such a focal length in the Sigma repertoire yet. If they did not produce such a lens in the "old" DSLR times, it will be unlikely, that they will do that now in a shrinking market.
