This came along with the new 40mm f/2 - an updated roadmap adding that lens plus an 18~24mm prime and a 50~200mm fast aperture zoom.

Another large-aperture telephoto zoom would likely be an S-Pro (the first in some time), perhaps a 50-150mm f/2.

A prime that sits between existing 18mm and 24mm options I would think would be slower and smaller than them as another f/1.8 between those two would make no sense. Perhaps a 21mm f/2.8?

Whatever they turn out to be, it doesn't seem like they're the lenses that the L-mount is most lacking.

It's an intriguing choice of focal range by Panasonic, given that 70-200mm f2.8 occupies a lot of that range.

One of the reviewers suggested that it might be another small lens, e.g. a 20mm in the same body as the new 40mm lens. That would make sense given there is already a regular sized 18mm prime.

Could be.
Maybe these are lenses for the S9 crowd.
That is the new generation of shooters. Flippy selfie screens and no viewfinder, with the marketing assistance from Leica and their compact super cool hipster red dot Sunday morning walks about with your beard and pony; plaid jacket and matching camera strap. Consumers for the S9 shall abound!! (JK)

In general, a compact 20/21 for the S9 would be interesting, but not as interesting as a compact 28mm.
