F8 is normally enough though (at 24mp) and wide open center also. Played with it. And if you increase the clarity and texture a very small amount, it already makes a huge difference. Not done that on this 100% crop. So after pp it is really good. And yes, I did the F10/11 because you indicated that, but I think I'm going to dial that one down to minimum aperture + 2/3 or 1 stop. Or plain wide open.

Oh don't worry, I'm not going to argue either. So long as you're happy that's what matters. And I know many other people are happy with the 28-200 too. Maybe I got really unlucky, or maybe I'm just expecting too much. But after three tries, I've given up on this lens.
My motivation to post the pictures is not that I try to convince you to try another, but more for other people not to discourage them to try it out for themselves. And stating that the lens is unusable is over 150 is not correct.
Because of your statements I was very cautious to try one out.
. And the first copy I got was indeed as you experienced. But when the seller tested the lens and confirmed it was out of spec, only then I asked for a 2nd copy. Otherwise I would have given up on it immediately. My initial thought was to ask my money back. But for 699 it is a good proposition.
