Ooh, nice! You’ve been having much nicer weather… here, we’ve had temperatures hovering around/over 100F for several weeks, and the plants are suffering.

Ooh, nice! You’ve been having much nicer weather… here, we’ve had temperatures hovering around/over 100F for several weeks, and the plants are suffering.

We had a drought and scorching temps as well... lt is now over, and for the last few weeks we had quite some rain, but also a few sunny days. More like how it is supposed to be. The heather coped well though. And the rain helped. But yes, the grasslands here already recovered, no more yellow fields.

Had some unique meteorological conditions the other night, which allowed me to see stars concurrently with lightning strikes due to a gap in the clouds. So, I setup the camera with Live View Composite on, and let it do it's thing. For the most part, all I got was a handful of images with cloud-to-cloud lightning, but the last image I captured is shown below. I never thought about capturing star trails in conjunction with lightning strikes before, but it sure turned out great!

This was with the 18-40. Exposure was set to 5 seconds, ISO 400, f/4.5. Overall integration time was perhaps 3 or 4 minutes - not sure exactly.
