Post your L-Mount "3 lens kit"

I've been getting by with just 2 of late. Really really taken a shine to my Lumix 35 mm f1.8, and I've usually got my Lumix 14-28 mm with me.

Went to China for a couple of months last year, and from memory I took my Lumix 18 mm f1.8, and Sigma 28-70mm f2.8. Pretty sure that's all I took.

Yes I love my 35mm 1.8 too. I'd only trade mine in for the 24-60 , but it would be a tough trade.

Actually, I told a lie. I took my much loved 26 mm f8 pancake as well. But that doesn't count as a lens. Apparently :)

It weighs nothing, takes up no room, so I kind of forget I have it with me at times
 
So far:
Sigma 24mm 3.5 DG DN
Sigma 45mm 2.8 DG DN
Panasonic 85mm 1.8

Sometimes I swap in the Meike 55mm 1.8 Pro in lieu of the Sigma 45 when I need more light or shallower depth of field.

I would consider the rumored 60-180 f2.8 Samyang zoom for distance while traveling, but my need for such a lens seems to diminish.

Lenses thinking of adding:
A 35 F1.8-f2 lens autofocus for street photography (somewhat redundant with the 45 2.8 I already own, depends on the scale of the street)
A manual focus Leica prime via adapter for character and color.
A wide angle (the 14-28mm Samyang/Schneider would be something of interest) for traveling, landscapes (if I get serious with them) and architecture

Second jobs to be considered:
Part time professor/teacher at local college
Influencer (I don't even know what the hell this is besides someone who doesn't want a job)
 
I am new to the system (have an extensive MFT collection) and have put together a kit for an upcoming trip to the Adriatic.
S9 + P 28-200 + P 18-40 + TTA 40 f2

All of this fits into a Camslinger Streetomatic bag that I can wear around my waist, keeping both hands free. The 2 zooms give me a very good range. It is generally very sunny in the Adriatic so I don't think the slower speeds will be an issue. The 40 f2 is my "fast" lens for low light (indoor/night) photos. Picking lenI am interested to see how this stacks up against my MFT travel kit.

Yeah, I'd say if you can't capture it on that combo - it wasn't meant to be captured

Thanks! It is pretty similar to my MFT travel kit, though that had 4 lenses: 9-18 (18-36 equiv), 12-32 (24-64 equiv), 45-175 (90-350 equiv) and 20mm f1.7 (40mm equiv - fast lens).
I am not going to have quite the same reach, but with Hybrid zoom, it will be close. Compared to the GM1, the S9 has a bigger sensor and 5-axis IBIS so both of those should help.
 
If I had to trim to just three lenses, it would be the 50 f/1.4, 16-35 f/4, and the 100-500 lumix S.
I’m feeling guilty about my 70-200, but I really love the image and range I get with the 100-500.
 
Interesting that no one seems to be doing 70-200 f2.8 with 2x teleconverter.

Would that constitute 2 of the 3 lenses?
I would assume the image quality is a little better even if the ultra zoom is a more modern lens, and you land on a minimum aperture of 5.6 at 400mm (with a weight that is likely 5-600 grams heavier than, and a cost 1,000$) more than the 100-500 zoom, is it worth going after?
With an aperture range of 5-7.1, I find the 100-500 an excellent lens for many different shooting situations. Obviously it needs good light, but it renders beautifully and at 1,285 grams it’s not much heavier than my 70-200 f/4.
I love the pro series focus ring and the internal zoom is nice. It’s also much smoother to zoom (WAYYYYY SMOOTHER!!!) and is of course adorned with the Leica name (for what it’s worth)

Any thoughts?
 
Sigma 16-28mm f2.8
Sigma 28-105mm f2.8
Sigma 70-200mm f2.8, or, 100-400mm f5-6.3

Third lens just depends on the intended subject or day.
 
Right now I'm on holiday and have brought:

Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 for general use
Lumix 50mm f/1.8 for low light, shallow DoF and a lighter setup
7Artisans 18mm f/5.6 to cover ultra-wide while taking up very little space
 
RIGHT now I have gone a little on the wild side.

14mm f 2.8 7-Artisans
18-40 Lumix
50mm f 1.8 Lumix / 75mm f 1.25 7-Artisans (I keep changing my mind)

Thats for this week needless to say I have too many lenses

Yknow, I know what those words mean individually, but when you combine them like that it just sounds like Authentic Frontier Gibberish…. What is this “too many lenses” thing you speak of?
 
Well I started in Photography in 1968 in Viet-Nam with a couple of Canon RF a 7sv their last RF a Canon P, and a Canon Vt deLux. After I got back to the US I sold all my Canon's and got 2 Leica M-3's, one chrome and one Black. As I replaced the Canon screw mt. lenses I replaced them with M mount lenses, 50mm f 1.4 Ver II, a Leica Elmarit 28mm F 2.8, a 90mm f 2.0 Summicron, then a 35mm f 2.0 Summicron Ver I then a 135 Elmarit f 2.8 bug eye's and a 200mm f 4.0 with a visoflex III then a 65 f 3.5 Elmarit. After a couple of years I added a Kiev II and then a Kiev III w/ 50mm f2.0, 50mm f 1.5, 35mm f2.8, 85mm f 2.0 and a 100mm f 6.3, 50mm f 3.5 (3 different ones 1936, 1947, 1954 and then a 50mm f 2.0 (1935) After a couple of years I figured a SLR was due. So I got a Alpa 10 D and a Alpa 6c and added a 50mm f 1.9 Makro Switar, and a 24mm f 3.5, and a 40mm f 3.5, and too round this out a picked up a 35mm f2.8 Elmarit R lens with a Alpa Adp. And then I added a Leica M4-2 w/winder and finally a Konica Hexar RF oh and I forgot I had a Leica M-5 body about a 2 years after the first M-3 bodies. Now I still have all this stuff.
Now lets do digital my first was a Sigma SD9 with a 16mm f 2.8, 20mm f 1.8, 50mm f 2.8 and then a 105mm f 2.8, then when they came out with the SD-14 I added one of those bodies. Note this was a almost a apsc size sensor really 1.7 not 1.5.
Then a Sony RX-1 no additional lens as lens is built in. After 4 years I added a Sony A7s forget that it's only 12 mgp It's a great camera and I got some really good pic's out of it. Used all my manual focus lenses from above with the correct adp. Then added a Sony A-9 and then started AF lenses Zeiss Batis 25mm, Sony ZA 35mm f 2.8, Zeiss Batis 40mm f 2.0, Sony ZA 50mm f 1.8, TT Artisans 75mm f 2.0. Now recent MF lenses, 10-18mm Zoom,14mm f2.8 7 Artisans, 18mm f 5.6, 21mm f 1.5, 28mm f1.4, 28mm f 5.6, 75mm f 1.5, 75mm f 2.4, 75mm f 1.25 almost forgot the 50mm f 0.95.
Now Lumix S9, S1H, S1R, 18-40mm, 20-60mm, 50mm f 1.8 plus I have adp. to use all my MF lenses on the Lumix cameras with the proper Adp. except for the AF Sony E lenses.

I am sure I missed something but does that give you a idea what "too many lenses" means now. I have replaced and sold some of these bodies but I learned to keep all my lenses they really don't go bad.

The only way you can have "too many lenses" is if you had SO MANY that there weren't enough on the market for all the other hoarders photographers out there.

How do you like the 7Artisans 14mm f 2.8? Do you have images online to have a look at?

My 3 lens setup currently is
1. Viltrox 16mm 1,8
2. Lumix 24-60 2.8
3. Sigma 70-200 2.8

I just got it last week so I have just been playing and learning, it is sharp the DOF is great. I am going on a Leica SL-3 P walkaround tomorrow and will be taking it along hope to get something worthwhile then.
 
Lumix General FF Setup
  • Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 — I’ll often opt for the Lumix 20-60mm or 18-40mm instead for the wider field of view.
  • Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8
  • Sigma 100-400mm f/5-6.3 — For work, I’ll usually swap this out for the Lumix 50mm f/1.8, 85mm f/1.8, or 100mm f/2.8 Macro, depending on what I’m shooting.
