Panasonic S1II is CineD 2025 Camera of the Year

CineD is the longstanding site that tracks and reports on video centric gear. They are also well known for fully characterizing the video properties of cameras.

Their staff selected camera of the year in four categories:
-- Cinema Camera of the Year 2025
-- Video-specific Camera of the Year 2025

-- Smartphone Camera of the Year 2025
and
-- Overall Camera of the Year 2025

The Panasonic S1II was selected as BOTH the Mirrorless/Hybrid and the Overall Camera of the Year 2025.

LOL!!!

I actually said that I wished one of them got a shot of me, but then I thought, “No, it’s better that they were trying to save me."

But he did grab this as we were hiking up, and while we were on the lake. I’m in the blue puffy. This was F2.8, ISO 6400, 60 fps with an angle of 180 it’s dark in the early scenes, but pretty clean.

That's great news and from all I've heard and read about the S1ii, seems well-deserved.

Even as a pure photographer, when the S1ii was launched I was a little bit "dang, did i make a mistake buying the S1Rii ?". I do like the 44Mp of the S1Rii, but I don't need it all the time and the extra DR and lower noise of the S1ii would be useful sometimes. Overall though I'm still very happy with the S1Rii so I won't be running out to buy one.

Good video, and the ZR looks like a really nice camera.

Yeah, Andrew does excellent work. He’s also an amazing astro photographer. Often I just follow him around. And landscape, and… etc.
