Rumors Panasonic 24-60 f2.8 or f2.0

Panasonic 24-60/2.8 it will probably be an analog of Sony 24-50/2.8g, If the optical weight (450g) is also good with dimensions and at the same time cheaper, then it is interesting.
it’s 544g don’t know the size. I think I keep my 28-70. I put it back in the box though and will wait if it is worth the extra 150€. I can send it back for full refund until 2-6-2025.

Because there are 3 things that will influence my descision. Weather sealing, rendering and color difference from my other Lumix lenses, and I somehow dislike turning the wrong way for zoom, but that is very minor.

The 28-70@28 wide-open does give a big vignette which is still there after corrections are applied.

The sony 24-50/2.8 is lighter then this announced 24-60 , but that one I would never buy if I where a Sony user. It is also not even near the performance of the sigma 28-70.

As I wrote before, the only thing that I'm curious about, is if the AF would be a little bit snappier on my S5 classic. Weather sealing would be a nice bonus, I really don't want or need it personally.
I'd love to be able to rent one for a weekend when they become available, but I really can't see them being available in my country.

I really don't see that with mine. It may be that I just haven't gone looking for it, or it could be my raw converter. I don't know

For me, add to that: close focus. Also, certain optical properties like distortion & coma. The 24-70 Art has rather complex distortion at 24mm, and it seems to affect the IQ. My 14-24 Art has noticeably better detail at 24mm than my 24-70 Art, for example. And, if it had low coma wide-open, it would be a decent astro lens.

This actually bothers me more than I'd like to admit.

Lovely Timelapse!!

Back to the 24-60 f2.8 - it’s certainly of no interest for me. If I wanted a lens in this range the Sigma 24-70 f2.8 would take some beating. It seems the lens I want won’t happen - a 28-200 that delivers excellent edge-to-edge sharpness and overall IQ. In other words - something better than the current 28-200! I’d be happy with something a little bigger.

Yes, it looks like you'll have to wait for Sigma to make that one.

From the rumour site apparently the 24-60 is the same size as the 20-60. Quite a feat to make it that small and still an F2.8.
Are we sure it's f/2.8? I saw a leaked photo showing "24-60mm" but I didn't see anything about the speed.

That would be amazing at that size & weight. Min focus distance is nearly half that of the 24-70 S-Pro. I remain skeptical about IQ, but we will find out sooner or later.

I agree. If it's weather resistant then it would be a good alternative to the Sigma 28-70/2.8 - get wider with weather resistance but less reach or not so wide but longer and without the weather resistance. Two light-weight options.

Hopefully they won't have compromised on image quality to get the size down the way they appear to have done on the 28-200.

"99cm size lenght" means Length at Maximum Extension?

Because in the 20-60mm the lenght is 119.7mm... and the normal lenght is 87.2mm...

I am confused

An F2.8 the same size as the 20-60 is impressive. Obviously, I would've preferred a different range, like maybe 20-50, but this looks like it might become a great budget option and a great option for a smaller, lighter setup.

I think it's in mm, and that he talks about his male body part Z04 Kaputtlachen
