Last Sunday we went to Donkeyland, which I believe is a place that takes in donkeys (and some other farm animals) to take care of them. My daughters had a great time feeding the donkeys. Apart from the animals the place was also full of something else - junk! All sorts of junk had been collected there with much of it turned into sculptures of some kind. I'm a sucker for photographing old abandoned stuff and used the Sigma 35mm f/2 DG DN for this series.

Back to the topic of the language for STOP signs around the world, the first thing I noticed going into Quebec City, the STOP signs are in French (unlike France, where they are mostly in English). (Actually some in Quebic City are in BOTH French and English, but most of the ones I saw were in French only). I apologize, Rue du Marche-Champlain is really scenic, but this is the best stop sign picture I saw.

I've taken a week off work to travel with my wife while she visits a few regional offices for her job. The weather was not good for our first day away, with plenty of rain and of course dull grey skies.

I chased a train between two towns and got a few shots in the rain which was fun. Both photos were taken with the S5-II and LUMIX 70-300mm lens. I think it's my favourite lens for rail photography.

I went for a bush walk today (I climbed quite a large hill) in regional New South Wales. I took my S5M2 to take photos from the top but on the way back down, I bumped into some local wildlife and snapped some photos. Posting wildlife shots is completely out of character for me - it's usually landscape scenery or trains.

Anyway, the first shot is of an echidna, a shy and cute little spiny ant eater. The second shot is a goanna, large and not so cute!

Here are a few shots from Rocky Mountain National Park this morning. Sunrise at Bear Lake, and then morning Elk shots in Moraine Park.
Those shots of the lake are stunning!

Thank you! I should have been there two weeks earlier - there would have been more fall color in the shot. But either way, Bear Lake is super photogenic when the winds are low.
I would love to visit one day. It looks magic!

Let me know if you ever do decide to come to Colorado. So much to see here - especially in the Fall.
Thanks George, will do.

I visited the USA often for work some years back and took my family along with me sometimes for vacation, but I am now in a job that doesn't require overseas travel and my travels have been domestic since COVID shut things down. I do hope to get some more travel in when I retire, which is probably in the next 5 years.

how do you like the 7Artisans 9mm f/5.6 so far?

It is pretty good. There are a few things it could do a bit a better but overall i think the image quality is decent and a bit cheaper than the Laowa 9mm f/5.6 so it's good for people who want an insanely wide lens but don't want to pay for the Laowa price. (Laowa is slightly wider)
I will publish my review later today when the lens is officially released.
(7Artisans is happy for me to post some sample photos, but not the review yet)

I already watched your video review. I find it very interesting. Thank you.

Richard - what's it like to go out with only a 9mm and 100mm? That sounds like a fun challenge

Here's a few night shots from Dushanbe, Tajikistan. I don't get out for night shooting very often, but the weather was great and I had a blast. _1053704.jpg

Some photos from Porto last week with the 16-35mm. I found this lens a good walk-around despite not going longer than 35mm though I did get a few mis-focused shots, which is unusual. A few times I could see in the VF that the image was not in focus and had to AF again. It's something it seems I'll need to keep an eye on.

I just got the Panasonic Lumix 14-28mm. I needed an UWA for professional photography (art exhibitions) but yesterday I took a few pictures just walking the dog in the countryside in Austria:
