Unfortally still no 32 bit flot on the S5ii(X).
It nible, easy to use and carry around but i'm not shure yet about the sound quality - Only Lumix has two parts with loud music in it, and the stereo separation hasn't blown me away yet.
For standard interviews I thin a DJI Mic or equivalent is still better...

So yeah - I might buy it when the price goes down - what do you think?

It‘s very interesting and compact.
I also like the idea of the next anounced firmware to be able to adjust the volume with the focus ring

I think this new mic would be perfect for me as an occasional user of video. I have a Rode mic but rarely use it because I just find it a bit awkward to set up and I have to remember to charge it. This Lumix mic would be easier to set up.

But given my S5ii doesn't have 32-bit float, what setup would I need to do to ensure sound isn't clipped?

You can check on the screen if the volume is clipping - I did this for years and works fine.

I would like to have the 32 bit float, but still a interesting mic without it.

I've now listened with my Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro (One of my two reference headphones), and It sounds better than expected.

But still - People remember that inside you often get a lot of reverb in de recordings with I mic like this. I would use it mostly for recordings of bands/music or outside enviromental recordings. And recordings on noisy streets would not be very clear. Use a lav mic like a DJI mic for that.

Don't expect good quality in your room, excepted is when it is soundtreated well - but than I expect you also have an Boommic already in that room.

Interesting... It seems like a 360° "ambient but Shotgun" microphone, right? It is a bit contradictory hahaha, but with 32 bit Flow.. Lumix has to offer something different than Rode, DJI or Hollyland, I guess...

Unfortunally you cannot get 4 mics in 4 separate audio streams

Sony has a mic similar to this and I’ve had one for some time. Use it mostly for outdoor sound. This new Panasonic mic specs look better, plus 32 bit. I will likely end up getting one.
