There is a rumor about a Panasonic event in Lissabon/Lisbon (Portugal).

The official announcement shall be on May 13. And Panasonic will announce a new L-mount Full Frame Cine camera.

The wording is not exact. It could be 2 different cameras or the same one.

Again something for videographers. We heard about that rumor before, if it is only about one camera.

Thom Hogan wrote in a recent article, that he knows about at least one canceled camera and two postponed cameras due to the tarriff desaster. No brand was mentioned.

And in Texas are the USA & Canada vloggers...

I expect a small mirrorless videocamera (without EVF), perhaps a bit larger than the S9. I'm interested :p

The camera is probably not for me, but I'm interested in what sensor they put in that camera.
A good guess is same sensor as S1 mk II...or it could be a new one which I doubt..

I'm thinking that its a competitor to the canon R5C at a much reduced price.

You mean the same as S1RII? Rumored is a lower resolution count.
That what I presume too. I also expect better rolling shutter (Although this was never a problem for myself), and 4K/120p. And ofcourse 6K opengate. I Would also really love it when it has BRAW Raw.

I understand also a new lens. Perhaps this would be a 20-60mm Powerzoom, going to 20-90mm with Hybrid zoom.

Looks like two new cameras could be released on may 13th. A S1II and a S1IIx, maybe with partially stacked 24MPix Sensor. Additionally there could be a new fast standard zoom lens.

If the body size is not bigger than the S5ii and if it is not photo centric, this might be a better upgrade for me than a S1Rii.

mmmmhhhhh.....

But maybe I was too fast. Newest rumor tonight is that there will be a photo centric S1ii with 24MP announced on May 13th. If it is not larger than a S5, this might be the better choice for me.
Interesting. I wonder what an 24MP S1 mk2 would bring to the table over the S5 mK2? A new stacked sensor? Larger more robust body incorporating a larger EVF? Time will tell I guess.

I would guess it will get the same body as the S1RII.

I'm in China for a month, I can't access YouTube or some of the international sites, what are a few details of the new lens? Focal range?
P Probably 24-60 with fast aperture. The rumor's are still between smaller fast 2.8 or very fast 2.0 (but less small).

Based on the S5ii and G9ii using essentially the same body, my guess is that rumoured S1ii would probably be in the same body as the S1Rii.

Yes, that's what the L-rumours website suggested, i.e. that the S1ii would have the same partially stacked Sony sensor as used in the Nikon Z6iii.

I think we were seeing leaked information about the S1Rii well ahead of its release whereas this is the first we've heard about the S1ii and it's less that two weeks away from the supposed announcement, so I wonder if this rumour is not very accurate.

This is what Panasonic had on their roadmap in May 2024:

But what big advantage would a stacked sensor has? Is it speed? If yes how fast? Would that hint to a very first sport camera for L-Mount?

With which lenses? You need telezooms for a sport camera. The new Sigma 300-600? The already available Sigma 100-400 and 4 "normal" telezooms (2x 70-200/F2.8, 1x 70-200/4.0 and the Lumix 70-300 plus Leica (Sigma) zooms)

Maybe the AF will be optimized for Sport?

Based on the S5ii and G9ii using essentially the same body, my guess is that rumoured S1ii would probably be in the same body as the S1Rii.

I would hope for that. But if it will be a sport camera, the body will be either bigger (better for bigger lenses), or there will be an extra grip available.

mmmhhhhh.... The Nikon Z6iii is not really a sport camera. If the sensor information is true, what other meaningful advantages brings that sensor?

I will move the postings in the rumor thread...
