Looks like this 55/1.8 is a good performer - sharp with nice rendering. It's about time that the L-mount had a native fast fifty that's cheap. How's the build quality?
It already does... The S50 f1.8.Looks like this 55/1.8 is a good performer - sharp with nice rendering. It's about time that the L-mount had a native fast fifty that's cheap. How's the build quality?
I agree. The Lumix 50/1.8 is a great lens and available at very low prices. It already does... The S50 f1.8.
Lets face the facts, you can buy them open box/unused for £200 and how can you compete against that? Same with the 20-60 as they are sold as kits and unwanted.
The Leica Summicron f2 has the same optical formula which they copied from the S50 f1.8 which says it all and it's difficult to tell the difference in blind tests.

Ps I don't know why you like that Pentax M50 f1.7, I own one, it has a clinical rendering with edging on pretty horrible bokeh and bad colours, to me from when I got it I didn't like it on DSLR nevermind now. The Limiteds and * lenses were a completely different story. I never owned the DA* 50 f1.4 but that was the 50 you wanted. I seen beautiful portraits taken with it beyond what the old 80s M50 f1.7 was capable of.
