I took this lens with me to a concert, where the headliner was a local Rush tribute band called Vital Signs. By the time Vital Signs started, it was 10:00PM, the sun had gone down, and I had to rely just on the stage lights. I had to crank the ISO up significantly, but the shots look pretty good. I remember back in the 35mm days, I used Ilford 400 pushed to 1600 or Ektachome 400 pushed to 800. Next time, I'll take the SG Image 35mm f2.2 as well for a faster option. Overall, I was quite happy with the 28-200, despite its slower speed.

Well done! They are great photos. The S9 is a versatile performer.

Yes remarkable! I would have brought a 24-60 or 100/2.8… guess it was an all day event most in sunny 16….and you ended up with unforeseen night shots :)

There is a solution to this but very heavy and impractical… Samyang 35-150 but that would be really awkward with the S9

A valiant attempt but personally I wouldn't be happy with the sharpness of these, I think it very much shows the limitations of the lens in what was doubtless challenging light.
