Lumix 20-60mm f/3.5-5.6

Great photos, Jonathan.

Those apartments in Mojacar are amazing!

Love this lens! Actually, it is the ONLY 3.5-5.6 kit lens that I kept and continue using it regularity.

Even wide open it gives enough sharpness to handle 47MP sensor. Being 20mm at short end makes it wide enough for me in 98% of situations where I need wide angle (while 24mm is good for about 80% of them and 28mm can handle only like 65% of situations, I enjoy making photos of the cities).

And additionally it has an advantage over 24-105 in handling direct sunlight. 24-105 is really bad at this...

And some pics )

Great photos, especially #2.

I plan to keep the 20-60mm even if I ever get a 20mm or wider prime as it's so versatile, compact and gives fantastic image quality. I probably use it just as much as the 24-70/2.8 because when I don't need speed it's a much smaller and lighter lens to take along.

Great examples Paul, I love the Sky Garden one, cracker of a shot.

Big fan of mine. It gives me much hesitation in replacing it with a prime, as at 20mm it's not that slow for an ultrawide, not too big or chunky and gives excellent image quality

I love this little lens. At f8, it's to all intents and purposes as good as any lens in the system. I foolishly allowed myself to be dragged into a FB discussion where someone was asking for views on it. So many of the responses were really negative, along the lines of "it's OK for a kit lens, but compared to just about anything else it's crap". I really do disagree with this. So long as you don't need a wide aperture, this lens will deliver top-class results. I really like this one I took recently using the S5 - 60mm and f8:

Yes, I agree. It's a wonderful lens and the extra 4mm on the wide end is really useful.

I've looked at some of the Lumix FB groups but rarely participate because they're a lot like DRP forums, bad for your mental health.

Exactly. I'm even happy to use it wide open anywhere in the range. This lens has never done anything but impress me.
